A-PAD Bangladesh has funded a primary health care center in Jamtoli, Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar with local partner organizations, Dhaka Community Trust Hospital (DCH Trust) and Community Initiative Society (CIS). A-PAD Bangladesh has been working with those partner organizations since September 2017. The health care center has been providing life-saving measures and consultations by doctors. Additional services provided include counseling, health and sanitation education, nutritional food packs for children and expectant mothers, and organizing mobile clinics.

On July 7, Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah, the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, visited the Jamtoli Health Centre operated by CIS. To mark his visit, a cultural ceremony was held at the Centre. Staff members of MERCY Malaysia (co-operator of the Centre), along with Golam Mostofa, MD (Executive Director of CIS), Dr. Omar Sharif Ibne Hasan (Coordinator of CIS), Ronjit Halder (Program Director of CIS), and Hashi Chakma (Coordinator of CIS) attended the ceremony.
