Opening Ceremony of DCH Trust & PWJ Health Center
for influx of most persecuted Rohingya people

The opening ceremony of the Health Care Center made by the combined efforts of Dhaka Community Hospital Trust (DCH Trust) and Peace Winds Japan (PWJ) for influx of most persecuted Rohingya people held on 10th January 2018 at Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. DCH Trust & PWJ Established Health Center at Hakimpara, Ukhiya to serve the influx of most persecuted Rohingya people. The Health Center will focus on supporting Maternal and Child health care services by providing ANC, Safe Delivery, PNC service, providing nutritional supplements, Family Planning, Primary Health Care service, Pathological services, and more services specialized care to the Rohingya People. This Health Center will also be used as a Emergency and Referral Service as well. Mobile clinic and Public Health Campaign are continuing at Moinarghona, Balukhali, Thaingkhali and Palangkhali of Ukhiya Upazila, Cox’s Bazar for the remote Rohingya patients.
Dr. Misbah Uddin Ahmed, Upazila Health & Planning Officer was present as Chief Guest, Capt. M. Abu Taher (AMC)- Medical Officer, Hakimpara Camp, Lt. Rakib, Camp Commander, Hakimpara Camp, Thaingkhali, Ronjit Halder, Manager, Project & Research Dept. DCHT & Prof. Dr. Monirul Alam Community Research Institute of Traumatology, Orthopedic & Rehabilitation (CRITOR) was there in this opening ceremony.
Rohingya People who are facing ethnic cleansing in Burma’s Rakhine state. The Burmese army has been accused of carrying out extrajudicial killings in the restive Rakhine region since 25 August 2017 as results Rohingya people are facing catastrophic humanitarian situations.
